I did just what you are proposing. Bought a chest freezer, built an STC controller following instructions found here. I use a ceramic reptile heater. It does a great job.
I use the dishwasher to sanitize also. Just soak the bottles in Oxyclean and water for a day, rinse and put in the dishwasher the night before bottling. By myself, I can do two cases in an hour. With a friend, even faster.
I'm going to recommend Rainey Street. Banger's has great food and an awesome beer selection and Craft Pride has great Texas beer and a good food truck. Walking distance of downtown.
I agree. Get a college degree in something that lets you pay the loans back and go to community college.
I'm also a nerd and I love Big Bang Theory. It's a sad day that you can't laugh at yourself.
I live not to far from Tyler. I've met a few homebrewers from there but I don't know if there is a homebrew supply store. There used to be but I think it closed. There is a brewery "True Vine" and I've had a couple of their beers. Not bad. Dallas is close and there are several breweries...
Well I had my first bottle bombs in two years of brewing. Now I have to clean up. My question is how should I handle the unexploded bottles? Do they pose any danger?
