    Schwarz Weizen Recipe Needed

Glad to hear it turned out well. I have 15 gallons of it fermenting as we speak. One of my favorite spring/summer session beers.

    Schwarz Weizen Recipe Needed

I have brewed 3 10 gallon batches of the below recipe. I split the fist 10 gallons in half and pitched two different yeasts (3638, 3333). The 3638 was a bit to fruity for my pallet. It's a great summer session beer for people who crave a darker beer in the hot summer months. Recipe: Eff...

Did you boil down that 10 gallons of wort to 5 gallons? Really need to see the recipe and know a bit about your setup to dig into your issue.

    Chocolate Mint Stout

Totally Agree, did a Mint Chocolate stout a few months ago. Been in the bottle for 6 weeks and it has an off flavor up front from the mint. I think next time we try the brew we will use some type of peppermint candy in the fermenter to get that flavor profile. Note: We soaked 3/4 oz mint in...

    Schwarz Weizen Recipe Needed

Ok so a macro brewery here in Portland puts out an amazing Schwarz Weizen every now and then, looking to see if anyone has a recipe for this style of beer (my searches seem to be coming up empty). Captured by Porches Schwarz Weizen | Oregon Beer Project Thanks in advance!:mug:

BeerSmith - BeerTools - Promash. - Which is best? What do you have?

Used Promash for the first year doing about 15 AG brews. Like the simplicity but hate how dated it is and lack of features and missing ingredients. Downloaded the Beersmith trial software and have to say that I am impressed, its a little bit overwhelming at first with all the windows and...

    carboy

Gotta give props to the Better Bottle Carboys, best of both worlds IMHO. Only use the bucket when I have to add a lot of dry hops or other adjuncts.

CPVC manifold, slots on top or bottom?

Yeah I used a "T" in the middle with a short nipple and a 45. I roll the "T" up 45 degrees and use the 45 to flatten it back out.

    False bottom for igloo recommendations?

I suggest a CPVC manifold, its easy to build and breaks apart quick for easy cleaning after each brew. A small pipe cutter is all you need to piece it together plus a sawzall or hack saw to make your slots in the bottom of the manifold. Would take a picture of mine but it is currently covered in...
