    Hitting target gravity

Try this website, it'll give you how much water to add to lower gravity or how much DME or LME to raise gravity. I'm fairly new to BIAB as well (3 batches so far) and enjoy it very much...simple and turns out a good product...good luck and happy brewing...

Going from partial boil to full boil

I too use NB kits and do full boils. I don't change anything other than the amount of boil water; 6-6.5 gallons to account for boil off. I still only steep the grains (if included in kit) in the recommended amount of water, which I believe is something like 2.5 gallons per NB. I personally...

    Bottling/Brewing kind of day

    Full Boil for Extract Kits

I normally steep in 2-3 gallons, fill pot up to 6.5 gallons +- , then boil and brew away. (Maybe try some FermCap to help with the boilovers, but plan on being pretty busy the first 30 minutes or so tending to the boil)

Pitched my yeast about noon yesterday. I noticed within the first few hours, I had some "sediment" in the bottom of my bucket, but thanks to HBT, I knew not to worry, it was most like either trub or yeast getting ready to do their thing. Checked it this morning, and alot of the "sediment" was...

Thanks Rifester! Brewed my Irish Red Ale extract kit this morning! Steeping grains smelled so good, can't believe its been 5+ years! I've looked at my fermenting bucket 3 three times already! Patience I know. Plan on leaving in primary for 4 weeks or so before bottling, I'll try to keep...

You've got a reborn noobie here. Haven't brewed in about 5 years or so, but getting ready to brew first batch again this weekend. Started with Mr. Beer years ago and enjoyed learning more as I went along (wish I knew about this site back then) Starting out the second time around with extract...
