    What's in your fermenter(s)?

I'd be interested in hearing how this turns out! PM me if you'd like. Really curious about red x.

Still have krausen after 10 days

Funny, I'm having the same exact issue with my Belgian wit. I pitched wlp410 on the 14th (9 days ago), and my mash temp was about 147 when I was shooting for 152. I've been slowly ramping up from 68, just hit 72, and the krausen persists. I haven't taken a hydrometer reading yet though. Trying...

    Wee Heavy Strong Scotch Ale

Good luck with your brew on Sunday! This is an excellent recipe. When I brewed this last year, I did a decoction mash, and the results were very good. Brewers will argue that adding some melanoiden malt will produce a similar effect, and there have been blind tastings where people have been...

Red X Base Malt for Oktoberfest

I'm just curious what your thoughts on this might be, folks. I'm thinking a Marzen with bavarian lager yeast, 65-70% Red X, Vienna, some caramunich and maybe a bit o' special roast to round 'er out. Noble hops, of course. Opinions?

Cloning HopHands by Tired Hands Brewing Company

Let us know how it turns out! I'm interested in changing up the hops in a future brew and mosaic/cites sound like really good choices. Funny you should mention a higher mash temp, I brewed a ten gallon batch of this beer yesterday and I did just that-- while my first batch tasted delicious it...

I did not use a muslin, it was a nylon bag that came with my brewing kit.. I compared it to some of the other hop bags I had lying around (that I have never used in any way) and the mesh is definitely not as fine. Could've been a grain steeping bag or something (idk, I jumped right into all...

Dry hopping: hops disintegrated in keg

Great tutorial! Do you gelatin dry hopped beers? I read that it could strip aroma/oils.. This pale ale had a massive 6 oz dry hop. I suppose if I don't put gelatin in it I could run the risk of getting a grassy flavor from all the particulate. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

Dry hopping: hops disintegrated in keg

Thanks for the response, will that still work with beer being already carbonated? I've never used gelatin before. I did find a guide online. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

Dry hopping: hops disintegrated in keg

Hello all, I'm looking for some advice to fix my beer. I dry hopped in a keg for the first time about a week ago, and apparently the mesh bag I used wasn't fine enough for pellet hops, as I now have hop particulate in every pour. My first four pints were practically sludge, and even after...

First of all, this beer tastes delicious! I ran into a problem Im hoping one of you can help me with: this was my first time dry hopping in a keg-- I sanitized a nylon hop bag I had lying around and a shot glass to weigh it down. Added the hop blend, suspended it to the keg, and racked my beer...
