Fermentation continues for a long time...

About saving the yeast, I think you would be better off harvesting the settled yeast at the bottom than from the krausen right? Aren't there bitter resins and stuff that also make their way up there in the krausen, while the yeast at the bottom is probably more pure?

Critique this (rye pale) please.. Brewing in the morning

much like beerific i too made a similar rye pale ale that has been tasting good so far, but i'll know better this weekend when its in the keg. even with only about 10% rye i had a pretty slow sparge so i wonder if rice hulls might speed things up a bit...otherwise looks good!

    First All-Grain Today

I'm doing my first all-grain today, after a few weeks of equipment buying and learning some more from this forum. I think I've got my process down in my head pretty well, as well as on paper, so wish me luck. I can probably attribute any success to reading everyone's posts here and any mishaps...

    Question about priming

ok thanks for the help, i have a chance to get a 20lb tank off craigslist, is that overkill for a 2 keg system? I guess it would last a while if it didn't have any leaks...

    Question about priming

I've been trying to wrap my head around this one, but I just got some corny kegs and am excited about kegging. My question is, if I prime with corn sugar or DME will I still need a CO2 tank to sort of push the beer out?

    Hello from Atlanta

Hello all. I am brand new to homebrewing and am looking forward to starting my first batch tomorrow, an IPA kit I bought at a local store. I can't wait to get started and hope it starts me on a long line of future brews. So far the information here has been helpful, and I'd love to hear about...
