    E-Herms Build 50 amp

It's been probably a year so I need to do that - thanks for the reminder. I am also going to put some keg lube on the shaft as suggested by Bobby in another thread.

    E-Herms Build 50 amp

I still really enjoy it. The only somewhat of an issue is that it can take 15 minutes for the mash temperature to change a few degrees if I miss my strike and target temperatures. By that time half of the conversion has taken place at the wrong temp. I've gotten it fairly dialed in where I...

    E-Herms Build 50 amp

I'm glad I put mine in. I don't have to worry about checking switches when I turn the panel on. IIRC, the interlock was fairly inexpensive.

(Home made) PBW - safe for glass? (Safe in general?)

I have had the exact same problem with the exact same brands you are using and it coats my HERMS coil as well. It also leaves a ring around the water level that I have to scrub off if it sits for too long. I have found that it helps a little if I use hotter water (170+), stir in the mixture...

    E-Herms Build 50 amp

I did end up wrapping my mash tun with a roll of reflectix. Instead of setting my HLT PID 4 degrees higher than the target mash tun temp, I can now set it to about 3 degrees higher. Was the expense and hassle of putting the reflextix on worth it? Probably not. I would like to think that the...

    Auber JSL-73A timer

I originally had two -71's and now I have one of each. I use the -73 for additions and use the -71 for mash time or for back-to-back batches. If you were only getting one timer, I would recommend the -73. If going with two, I would recommend one of each or two -73's.

I also gave Auber feedback on this timer while it was being developed. I've only brewed with it once so far but really like it.

    Insulation for Mash Tun

I have the same Stout mash tun. Did you come up with something to insulate it with?

Mine is located near the bottom. The element doesn't seem to disrupt it much.

Last minute tweaks to Ninkasi-ish recipe?

This thread is a little old but as others have mentioned, a mash temp of around 150 helps get the FG down. I consistently get 80%+ attenuation out of the 1968 yeast at a mash temp of 150.
