    PID Tuning - HELP!

Reverse mode is the one you want to let the PID do the work. When doing autotune it's best to be at the temp you normally want before running it so let the system run for a while and then hit the autotune setting. Run the autotune for a couple of batches and then let it do it's job. It's...

Auber PID + RTD pt100 sensor issues.

I had an error with one of the RTD probes (4") which was a result of two wires breaking the solder and no longer connecting to the probe. Issue was found when I took the back connector off and saw the loose wires. Was it the 2" or 4" with the 1/4" thread that you have?

    horizontal mounting of water filter

I wouldn't think the functionality of the unit would be affected by horizontal or vertical mounting. Whether the thread and seal for the cartridge is ok in the horizontal due to the weight of wetted cartridge I don't know. I'd probably support the cartridge to be safe

    Brew Stand Design

I'd do away with the middle length and add some short lengths between the back and front supports effectively making a square frame as a base for each keg. The central vertical support back and front would be sufficient. I'd probably increase the spacing between the kegs as well - adding...

    Browntown Brew Rig

A little update - the 2nd package from Auberins arrived last night. Opened it up to find the PID, heat sink and the 2 PT100 temp probes. Didn't realise how thick the probes are. Will be looking around for a cabinet to mount all this in along with some switches. The plan of the dual head...

    Browntown Brew Rig

Recieved the first package from auberins yesterday. PID, 2xSSRs and a heatsink. Man the heatsink is huge. Very impressed with the turn around on the goods - ordered it on Thursday last week and made it's way from the US to Aus to arrive at my door in 7 days. Can't seem to buy locally off the...

    Browntown Brew Rig

Hi folks, Following a number of great threads I thought I might as well put my ideas and plans on here for comment/criticism/wonderful praise. Excuse the metric but being Aussie I have little grasp on imperial measures I've done quite a few brews using the old set up of two 20L pots...

Brewery Build - Single Tier HERMS

That looks great. Am currently in the process of designing a single tier HERMS setup. Electric HLT controlled by Auberins PID, separate HERMS pot with element and Auberins PID with ramp soak. Continuous recirc of the mash. I like how you've used camlocks so you can easily switch the...

    Brewery names--what's your story?

Browntown Brewery - like brownsbrews my surname is Brown. Not really sure about the origin, was probably drunk, but it rhymes and fits so it stuck. Just trying to come up with a nice logo and then beer labels to suit.

    Alco Ginger Beer

To get some additional heat don't be afraid to add a chopped up birds eye chilli (including seeds) added to the fermenter.

    Alco Ginger Beer

Sorry mik - I topped up to 23L. This has really fermented out. I'm thinking my OG measurement was wrong based on a dodgy hydrometer. OG around 1.048, FG now at 1.000. You can stop it earlier and dump into a keg if you want it sweeter rather than dry. And this is very dry and hot. Looking...

    Alco Ginger Beer

A few people on the chat have asked me to post up the recipe for an alcoholic ginger beer. It's all in metric as that's what I know. The brew is not finished fermenting yet but the samples are great especially if you want a to feel the heat of the ginger. I didn't create the recipe, just...

    G'day from down under

Thanks for the welcome guys. I control the temp with a fridge and a temp controller. Couldn't be easier. Kegs go in a chest freezer with a temp controller as well. Pity I've been brewing for others and not myself so there's only 2 beers on tap at the moment.

    G'day from down under

Hey brewers, cdbrown here from Perth, Western Australia. Have been on the chatroom for quite a while chewing the fat with the regulars and thought it about time to join the forum. Been brewing for about a year now moving up from kits, to extract, partials and now AG. Don't have a lot of...
