Apple All Grain - Do I need to boil the organic apple cider?

Thanks for the info. I will not boil the cider and I will report back when this is done fermenting. The airlock smells amazing.

Apple All Grain - Do I need to boil the organic apple cider?

Hi am just brewed an all grain - soon to be apple ale. Everything went well but I am adding a gallon of organic apple cider when racking to the secondary. Do I need to boil the gallon of cider before I put it in or do I just dump it in the secondary? Thanks in advance!

First batch... Forgot the dry malt extract... Suggestions?

I forget exactly what it ended up tasting like. It was a bit sweeter than expected but it was a good brew.

Hop Head Double IPA - When to Bottle

I am brewing the Hop Head Double IPA which is suppose to have a high alcohol content. During primary fermentation the airlock went bananas for the first 2 days and then there was not really any action. I transfered the batch to the secondary after a 7 days and it has been in there for 2 weeks...

Hop Head Double IPA lack of airlock action

I am brewing my 3rd batch of brew. The first 2 were EPA's and this is my first high ABV brew. I already have a 5 gallon glass one and I am trying to decide weather to get another 5 or to get a shared 6 gallon one. Thanks for writing!

5 Gallon Glass Carboy vs 6 Gallon Glass Carboy

Are there any disadvantages to using a 6 Gallon glass carboy vs 5 Gallon Glass carboy when doing the secondary fermentation? I see that wine is usually fermented in 6 gallon carboys and beer in 5 and I plan to make both. I brew beer in standard 5 Gallon batches.

First batch... Forgot the dry malt extract... Suggestions?

Thank you for all of the responses. My kit basically included. Liquid malt extract, 3 hop varieties, dry malt extract, grains, and bottling sugars. I got it from midwest brewing supplies and I believe that it was called Summit Ave EPA(http://www.midwestsupplies.com/summit-avenue-ale-clone.html)...

First batch... Forgot the dry malt extract... Suggestions?

After I was done brewing and transfered the wort into the primary fermenter, I noticed that I still had the bag of DME sitting in the EPA kit box.

First batch... Forgot the dry malt extract... Suggestions?

I was brewing an EPA beer with a buddy of mine and I forgot to put in the dry malt extract. We did not notice until we had it in the primary fermenter. It is bubbling like crazy. Is it worth continuing to let it ferment? or should I just start over?
