    Good brew day

    Just finishing up with the second brew from a partigyle brew day. Rye IPA and a a rye porter. Smoked a nice cigar and have listened to Drive-By Truckers, OCMS, Rubber Knife Gang, Tom Petty, Neal Young, etc. It doesn't get any better than that.

    Upland in Bloomington, IN dry hops their black ipa with lavender. Its wonderful.

    Cold Start with S-04

    At these cooler temps everything is slower but worth it to me. I usually warm up to 65 to finish after the krausen has fallen. 67 is plenty warm for good activity. I say give it a swirl and wait.

    I ferment 04 and 05 at 54 deg ambient all the time. At that temp don't expect the krausen to fall for 2 weeks.

    Campbellsburg here. No good beer here except my basement. I either drive 40 mins to New Albany or 1 hr to Bloomington for breweries
