I was asking, swimlan. Don't count it as confirmation please! :)

    CraftBeerPi - Raspberry Pi Software

Thanks HB. So he should be good with the VCC hooked into the 12v line feeding the Terragady board as seen in the image below? Would the second image work as well using the extra 12v pad to power the relay board module instead?

    CraftBeerPi - Raspberry Pi Software

Could you draw this? In the example image above, GPIO27 is linked to the relay board through the screw terminal. The 12v and GND make total sense, but how do you wire the IN1 channel?

    CraftBeerPi - Raspberry Pi Software

Hey Dave, Are you referring to the Terragady board having 2 outs (+12 and GND) at the screw terminals, but your relay board is looking for three inputs (V, GND, and In)?

    CraftBeerPi build

Good point about the separate switch for the compy, I'm going to incorporate that! I initially planned for something much simpler, a touchscreen and no LEDs, but I brew outside and was a bit worried I might not be able to read the LCD well in direct sunlight. I started to think that some LEDs...

    CraftBeerPi build

Hi all. I'm planning a build that includes 1 HLT 5500w element, 1 pump, and 3 temperature sensors. Before I order any parts, I thought I should post to take advantage of the knowledge and past experiences here and seek out some tips and/or corrections. Any feedback would be helpful, much...

SSBrewTech Announced a New Insulated Mash Tun!

ipsiad, I brewed with it Sunday and the cleaning wasn't bad at all. With an Igloo cooler I always just picked it up and dumped. With this thing being so much heavier, I scooped out grains with a pitcher until most were gone first. Then with the valve closed I rinsed, dumped, and removed the...

    Sour beer

The cooler won't cause any problems because it's pre-boil, so no need to worry about bleaching it. How are you transferring the beer to the fermenator and keg? Plastic syphon and lines? Maybe replace those if so. Do you do anything to sanitize the sugar, like dissolving it in boiled first...

Sample After 3 Days In Primary Was Insanely Bitter

I'd say don't worry about the theoretical IBU being 150 or higher. I have done several that calculated to 200+ in theory, but if you like west coast IPAs like Stone Ruination or Green Flash Palette Wrecker you will never make a beer that is too bitter for you.

Ordering Grain Online by the Fraction of a Pound

I'll second ritebrew. Their double-crush is pretty good, but I might go a bit finer when I eventually buy my own mill. I live a few states away and get my stuff in two days every time, and every time I've ordered by 3pm est they have shipped that day.

    Any real life brewers?

So why don't you direct him to some books he should read or give him some ideas about where to start instead of just going straight to jerk mode? This comment is nothing but negativity and that makes it worthless. There's nothing wrong with offering a warning, but be constructive, man. To the...

    IBU Calc issues

I've read that Pliny clones will calculate around a theoretical 200 IBU, but will end up at around 90, 95 in reality. All I've seen were 200+ and I'll probably go with that when I try making it eventually.
