    Just Bought a Keg ....now I have questions

    1. In my experience the longer the unrefrigerated tubing the more foam. Use less tubing. 2. No need to condition just clean it with Oxyfree or some other cleaner then sanitize prior to use. remove valves and dip tubes in between uses and clean really good and the same keg should work for all...

    OG five points too high...

    I just had a similar issue and actually added water to my secondary. Were your volumes correct? At any rate. I scaled to get mine correct and everything turned out great. Instead of buying water, I just boiled a pot for ten minutes, let it cooled it to ferm temp then added it. Cheers...

    Holy Hops...I Froze My Brews

    After seeing that. Id still say bring it back to temp and see what it does. If nothing happens or you end up with a contaminated beer, i guess thats how we learn. I feel for you. Good luck and keep us posted.

    My First AG Brew

    When I first used my rig I boiled off huge volumes with a 10" 250,000 btu banjo burner. After a few uses I realized a boil is a boil and turned the flame down a bit. Volumes have been much more consistant. Good luck, and congrats.

    Its hard to tell what happened without seeing it in person. However i think about the last batch of pumkin ale I brewed. I added the pumkin into the boil and what a huge mess. With time though the primary settled out by the time fermentation was done. The beer further cleared in secondary...

    Getting warmer out

    just out of curiosity, with the cooler going, whats the temp dif in the house from day to night? if its around ten degrees I would suggest using a larger thermal mass, i.e. the bath tub. If you can keep the bath room temp diff around ten, a full bath would only change a few degrees...

    Getting warmer out

    Put your buckets in a waterbath and check the temp daily. A few ice cubes will drop the temp big time. I used this set up when i started brewing. On a side note, Put a bit of sanitizer or OxyClean in the water or it will end up smelling like funk.

    I agree, Bring it back to temp slowly. When thawed shake the crap out of it for a few seconds. Every thing ive read says you should be fine. Or put a stick in it and have a wonderful "wartcycle".
