    Korea microbreweries???

No problem. They shipped to APO as of this time last year. I don't see why they would have changed it. Every so often they would offer free shipping specials and I'd try to take advantage of it. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Korea microbreweries???

ATC--you don't like Midwest? They ship to APO and have a pretty good selection. Their "normal" shipping to APO is USPS Priority so you'll get it in 7-10 days, without fail, but I never trusted it for any liquid yeast because I just imagine there are some terrible temp swings. You're still...

Funny things you've overheard about beer

I walked into my local mini-mart behind 2 other guys. As we walk in there's a display with some of the "specials": Dos Equis, Sam Adams Winter, and 4-packs of Big Eddy RIS. Guy 1 says to Guy 2: Who would pay $8 for a 4-pack? Guy 2: Not Me. I picked up a pack and walked over to the cooler to...

    Korea microbreweries???

I stopped because I'm getting ready to leave and needed to exhaust my stock. I'll pick it back up when I get back to the States, of course.

Funny things you've overheard about beer

I was at a "bar" just outside of Boston (a while ago) and I asked what local or craft beers they had, preferably on tap. I was handed the typical plastic laminated menu with oversized pictures of what the food looks like, in theory. After reading mostly the usual BMC suspects, I settled for...

Anyone in Germany want to make a trade?

    Where exactly are you though?

    Anyone from Yakima?

I JUST saw this. I figured there would be more of an active homebrewing culture there with the abundance of hops grown right there. Anyway, since posting this, I've learned that there is a 1/4mi NHRA-sanctioned drag strip just outside of town. I was able to pick up a 1974 Chevy Nova SS over...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

I'm brewing MW's Jawbreaker Wheat Pale Ale right now. It's pretty simple: 6lb of liquid wheat extract, 1lb of dry wheat extract, and 4oz of hops (3oz Amarillo and 1oz Warrior). I'll be using Danstar Munich dry yeast. This will probably be my last batch for a while since I've got a pretty...

Funny things you've overheard about beer

Is there anything on the market that has ALL of this? If not, where can I get some food grade elks blood and ostrich piss? I've got a local brewfest in 2 weeks and I'd like to enter something like this in the "Specialty" category. I think I'll call it Grossenpuken Ale. I won't be able to...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

I didn't brew, but I racked my honey ale (1.044 OG) to secondary on top of 2.5lbs of frozen strawberries on Friday. The air lock went crazy over the weekend. I measured a 1.005 on Friday before adding the fruit. Today it's already back down to 1.004 with nothing happening in the airlock. Time...

    Anyone from Yakima?

I am in the Army and f I get accepted for some schooling I applied for, I will likely be assigned to Yakima. The school and the assignment, barring some unexpected change, are tightly tied together. With that in mind: I know YTC is tiny and only supports a small group of permanently...

    need help naming a beer

I never know what to name mine. My wife is the creative one, I just brew them. I don't even have a creative name for my brewery like some of you do.

    Completed First Brew, Successfully!!

Congrats on your first brew! Everyone else has already said it, but I'll throw my recommendations in as well: Buy another fermenter. I have 3 buckets and typically have 1 recipe in the mail or on the counter, 1 batch in primary or secondary, 2 batches in kegs, and at least 1 in my 16oz...

Brewing Extract, without nuking the Extract.

^^This is almost exactly what I do. For most of my beers, especially lighter-colored ones, I do late extract additions. I also use irish moss, I use immersion chillers, I use secondary vessels, I cold crash. Most of my beers, I can read through.
