I know this is an old thread but trying to get some input on brewing an Ommegang Brut IPA. I've been researching and I'm planning on using Belgium Pils, Flaked corn and rice then Mandarina Bavaria, Calypso and Citra hops. Going to bottle harvest my yeast from their Wit beer.
My 2 tier mash system. The top cooler (HLT) has an electric hot water element to heat the water. Both HLT and MLT have temp. probes. HLT has a sight glass.
I have been leaving my soda kegs filled with one step until I an ready to fill them with beer, then I dump and sanitize with starsan. The questions are:
Any possible problems with leaving them filled with one step?
I've read one step breaks down after a week or so, so should I just dump and...
Would you share your coffee porter recipe?
I would like to know how you incorperated the coffee in to the recipe, brewed coffee, steeped grains then added or what? Thanks for any info.
