It may take 24-72 hours to start fermenting, did you take a gravity reading before you pitch your yeast? If you did, you could check it and see if theres a difference. Thats the only was to tell definitively. You cant always go by looking at your airlock, your lid mite not have sealed tight...

1=YES, but you dont really need to make a starter. ive made lagers w/o them they come out just fine. its a lager whats a few more days to ferment. 2=looks good 3= pitch at 60 and maintain 50-55

4 brews have come out tasting like plastic. I cant seem to clean this thing so it doesn't smell...ideas??? the cap is yellow plastic rubbery like smells like burning plastic..i may use something else. errrrrr im so angry!

So about three months ago i bought a Mini-brew plastic conical. I would be very happy about it if it went for the 4 batches including a cider that have fermented in it taste like im eating lego's. I tired different sanitizers both iodine based and acid with no success. Thought i may be my water...

check out www.waterfilters.net just ordered a whole house filter setup from here, 80$ shipped. I installed it right off my pressure tank, (i have a well) so it does the whole house minus the outside water spigots. look into a KDF type filter. mine works sweet!

I think your out of luck...maybe order one now. Mean time plug your freezer in let it get to the temp you want and unplug it, it should maintain for awhile. just keep an eye on it. Its going to be cold this weekend anyway...run it

any one of NB are really good, try a wheat and get some blueberry extract add after ferm and enjoy for the nice spring to come.
