I am wanting to buy a 1/16th din panel punch for mounting controllers.
Anybody buy one that doesn't need it anymore? They cost so much I hate to spend that kind of money for a rarely used tool. Let me know what you have!
Thanks,
Grim
Steve,
It's all about cell count. You can pitch two packs to increase yeast cell count which will hopefully prevent stressing the yeast as it comes to terms with the higher OG you are starting with, or you can increase cell count by building a starter. Either way you are achieving the same...
Late to the party, but did you say you are in primary for 4 to 5 weeks? If so, you may be tasting autolyzed (not sure on the spelling?) yeast. Dead yeast gives a funky taste. Have you tried racking to secondary or checking gravity to determine when you are done with fermentation instead of...
I think you are apples and oranges here. He is talking about holding the wort, unboiled overnight and completing the boil the following day, not doing an overnight cooling to pitch. The only issue I can see is a potential for unintentional souring if you happen to have a stray bit of lacto get...

3. Slip nooses over silicone pads (one over each)
4. Fish the loose ends of the twine through the pipe.
5. Slide pipe down into carboy while pulling twine tight.
6. Tongs will...
Here is my update as of yesterday afternoon. Had some trouble with something eating my leaves early on, but I think I have that under control. I also have to keep the water to them when we don't get rain for a few days. The cascade has already busted out the hop cones, but I still have...
I have been using the ported better bottles for more than two years and I love the racking valve that comes with those. I saw northern brewer's ported big mouth bubbler, but it lacks the adjustable racking cane of the better bottle. So I bought two un-ported big mouth bubblers and I plan on...
