Carbonation problem related to swing tops?

So I have 3 different batches bottled right now, an amber, a SMASH, and a high octane belgian. I have been having a hell of a time getting carbonation in my belgian but figured it to be a factor of the high ABV. Well, i just cracked an amber, a beer that has been fully carbonating in all botles...

    Screwed up priming

Agreed 1KD1. Although I am quite easily not an expert, or even proficient at priming, it sound slike if you add a bit of sugar to each you will probably be good to go. On my issue, it was not that extended of a ferment. Maybe 2-3 weeks primary and 3-4 in secondary. I had a 8 gallons batch...

    Screwed up priming

Along the same lines (not trying to hijack) I have a mega gravity belgian that doesnt want to carb up after a month in the bottle. Would the carb drops work in that situation where it might not be a priming sugar deficiency?

Inexpensive (but good) reverse osmosis system?

Just a quick heads up about RO. RO is great... I have one.. but I also sell them at work... and they use a TON of water. Most systems are about 5 or 6 to 1 for input vs output. Meaning to make 1 gallon of RO water, it goes through about 4-5 gallons of tap water. So, just be prepared to hear that...

    Aerateing wort

I bought one from HD for my last brew and was curious what direction you are using on your drill. One way seems too light and only creates a small whirlpool effect in the wort while the other one seems to provide significant "friction" and really gets thing going pretty crazy. I know this has to...

    Therminator Leak

Double check the size on your worm clams too. I snagged a couple #16's from my office instead of the #06 and when fully clamped down, they kind sandwich into a diamond shape rather than cinching down in a nice circle. The gaps could be allowing the tubing to expand and let air in.

    Beer Fasting...

Yeah, I just finished reading it and while not overly deep, it does bring up some good points and thoughts. Maybe I had it in reverse, I recently attempted repeat on a fast FROM alcohol. Maybe I should do a fast from food and go beer only instead. While I fialed in my attempt, I realized several...

Always Use a Blow Off Tube...

No kidding, I blew the lid off a bucket twice when my Abbey was rockin a month ago. Didnt have any problems with the English Pale I did but will be using a blow-off tube when I do my Wee Heavy in a couple weeks.
