    Only do that on a separate circuit. 1600W plus an immersion heater will overlaod a single 20A circuit.

    How many years till the hops start yielding decent ammount of cones?

    This was my third year growing. My Centennials didn't do crap this year, but my cascades went nuts - I had three harvests off each of the cascades. Got about a 1/3 of the Centennial I had in 2013. We had a relatively cool summer here in Ohio.

    You're right, you'll never be able to brew beer! Better to give all that junk to me! :tank: A rule of thumb is 1 pound of dry malt extract will add approximately 0.043 to your gravity in 1 gallon of wort. So for 10 gallons of wort, 1 pound of DME will boost your gravity 0.0043 points. So...

    Smoking peppers?

    I smoke jalepenos and then dry them in a food dehydrator. I've had peppers in my smoker with a pork butt and didn't notice any jalepeno flavor in the meat.

    I like to use a large turkey baking bag inside of a 5 gallon bucket with a good gasket seal. I've had DME in a fairly humid basement for two years without bugs or moisture.

    I'm finding that $5.95 USPS flat rate shipping seems to be the best deal. FedEx and UPS are around $12 minimum regardless of location according to their online shipping calculators.
