    Homebrew stores in Columbus, OH

I frequent the winemakers shop as well and agree on the price. However they always help me out with any questions that I have which you can't find online. I've never been but there is Gentiles in Grandview, I hear they have lower prices.

    Cooling priming sugar

I've brewed 3 beers all of which have turned out ok. My dogfishhead 60 clone is the only really good one. That is the only beer I allowed my boiled priming sugar to cool before adding it the bottling bucket. Everything I have read says to boil the sugar in a cup of water and then add it to the...

    Sediment floating in bottles

Wow I put in the fridge 5 days and what a difference. Have a solid layer on the bottom but with a decent pour this stuff is amazing. Thanks for the advice

    Sediment floating in bottles

I haven't chilled them yet but I'm hoping it will start to drop. I'll throw six or so in the fridge at the 3 week mark and see what happens to them. I dry hopped with pellets so I'm thinking maybe some of the hop residue got sucked up into my bottling bucket. I've just never had a beer look this...

    Sediment floating in bottles

Bottled a dogfish 60 min clone a week and a half ago. It finished at 1.015 and tasted great. I bottled using the traditional 3/4 cup corn sugar boiled in a cup of water. I checked the beers yesterday and there is alot of visible sediment floating in it. Nothing has dropped to the bottom and I'm...

American IPA Dogfish Head 60 Minute Clone (AG) & Extract

Ok I was in a homebrew haze by the end of my boil yesterday and measured just the straight wort without adding the 2.5 gallons of water. I measured the again today when I realized my mistake and its at 1.070.

American IPA Dogfish Head 60 Minute Clone (AG) & Extract

I just brewed this recipe. I used 1.5 oz of warrior instead of the 1.25 in the recipe. I cooled the wort and got an OG of 1.13. What did I do wrong? I pitched with wyeast 1056 liquid yeast but am worried about how high the wort finished?

2 weeks after bottling, no sediment

Thanks for all the quick input! I let it sit another week and finally popped one open last night! To my surprise is had a nice head on it and carbed up nicely. Unfortunately since it was a kit the hop profile isn't as strong as I'd like and it tastes more like a red amber than anything. Still a...

2 weeks after bottling, no sediment

First time brewer here. I did a true brew IPA kit in a 6.5 gallon carboy and no secondary. I did not have a hydrometer at the time so I do not know what my OG was but I did have great fermentation activity day 2-3 and about a 2 in yeast cake by the end of 3 weeks. As a side note, like most first...
