    Brewing with pineapple

So, the time to add the pineapple would be in the secondary while dry hopping?

    Brewing with pineapple

Thanks for the advise! What about contamination of the beer? Do I have to worry about that when I add the frozen pineapple?

    Brewing with pineapple

Hello fellow brewers! I would like to brew an IPA with some tropical hops like citra and falconers flight and get fresh pineapple flavor in there. Has anyone used fresh pineapple in an IPA. I am concerned that the acidity from the pineapple may kill the yeast during fermentation, so the only...

The yeast must have got to hot in transport and died. Fermentation is going great after pitching some dry yeast! Thanks everyone!

    No fermentation....

I will check the gravity but the was absolutely no sign of fermentation. Usually there is krausen ring on ferment chamber or in the blow off tube or container. Will check gravity though, thanks!

    No fermentation....

This is about my 10th batch and I haven't had any fermentation problems up to now. I made a brown ale all to instructions and it tasted good before pitching. My OG was right on so I pitched my yeast at 80 degrees ( White labs British yeast). I went to work for 3 days and there are no signs of...

    Looking to buy hops

I have been looking online to buy bulk hops. A few different types in 1 lb volume. I have found a few places that have great prices on the hops, but shipping is out of control and makes it cost prohibitive. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Need some input on coconut in a stout

I have heard of some using the coconut syrup that coffee shops use. I might try that. Boil a pound then add syrup to secondary for flavoring. I will keep you all updated.

I am going to be making a coconut stout. I am looking for a creamy coconut flavor. Looking for all the input I can get. I was planning on doing 1 lb of coconut in last 15 of boil the put 1 lb of toasted coconut in secondary. This is going to be a 5 gallon batch. Thanks for all input!

Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer Coconut Cream Stout-competition runner up

I want to do this in extract form. Even with a light colored extract this comes out as a very very dark beer when I put it in beer alchemy. Is it supposed to be a super dark beer?. If it is fine, I just want a really good tasting beer.

    Stout or Porter shelf life

I am considering brewing a coffee/chocolate porter or a coconut stout. I don't want to keg it because I am not sure how long it would take be to drink all 5 gallons. Does anyone know how long this would stay good for if I bottled it and put it in my pantry which averages 65-72 degrees? Thanks!
