I add 72oz frozen Raspberries. For a 5 gallon batch. I add to secondary the last 4 days. Always comes out just right.
Thaw the frozen raspberries out. And smash them really good in the bag. Sanitize the outside of the bag. And dump them in.
All I ever do is toast 28oz. Shredded coconut. Put it in a hop bag. And steep it the last 10 minutes of the boil. Always a hit with everyone that tries it.
To get my wort temps. down in 10 minutes or less. I freeze water on a 2 liter pop bottle. And use it as a cooling paddle. Stiring the wort with it. While sitting in an ice bath.
Works awesome!! And is waaaayyyy cheaper than a wort chiller.
I ice bath mine. But also use a plastic 2 liter pop bottle filled with frozen water as a cooling paddle. Stirring the wort with it. While sitting in the ice bath. Gets it down to 65 degrees in 10 minutes or less.
