Brewing a Newcastle Brown Ale clone recipe and a holiday ale on Saturday.

I have made 6 batches of this mead over the past 4 years. Last night I found a gallon jug pushed to the back of a shelf in my basement which started on 10-14-09 and racked into the jug on 12-25-09. It is by far the best tasting. Definitely worth the wait, even if the wait was accidental!

Thanks for your response. I have been using MO because my LBHS had it in bulk. I have been using it in all the recipes I have brewed in place of 2 row malt or British pale ale malt. I LOVE the way my beers have been tasting. I was just curious on how much differently they might taste if I had...

I am a fairly new home brewer and I am wondering what effect substituting Maris Otter will have on a recipe that calls for British pale ale malt? What will be different about the resulting beer?

I plan to brew either a batch of my Hillbilly ordinary bitter or another batch of my London porter this weekend. I haven't decided which yet. I may brew both if I have the time.

I am mac user and decided to go with BeerAlchemy after downloading the different trial versions available. I really like Beer Alchemy.

Fly fishing, fly tying, running, cycling, and playing classical guitar are my other obsessions. The time spent on each tends to go in cycles. I tend to fish more heavily in spring and early summer but then spend more time running and on the bicycle late summer, fall and winter.

I did the same thing. I have a mark every 1/2 gallon from 1 to 8 gallons.
