Alright, i just did my second batch of all grain and i have been having some weird readings from the hydrometer. after i mashed out i took a reading and found out i had 6 gallons of wort at 1.054 after adjusting for temp (1.052 @ 80F), i topped off the kettle with a half gallon of h2o to account...

fountain pumps can pump around 200 gpm, i found one at the home depot for less than 20 bucks with some vinyl tubing to attatch it to the chiller

i just bought a batch of star san too, but i made the mistake of reading the bottle. whoever wrote the label made this stuff seem like the sanitizer of the apocalypse. is it really that dangerous?

Aluminum pots are not a big issues because the aluminum reacts with the oxygen around it immediatly making an incredibly strong coating of Aluminum oxide, the same stuff jade and sapphire is made of. your wort will not be able to strip this.
