I disagree with the OP. The Italian Bottling Spigot cannot be cleaned. Stay away from it. The white 2 piece spigots work well and can be cleaned easily.

I purchase this capper in the early 70s. Used it for a few batches and then stored it. Brought it out of storage 4 years ago when I restarted home brewing. Stored in a very hot garage for 15 years. It works great on all sizes of bottels. These can be found on eBay. I highly recommend them...

Try to find pickling salt. You should be able to find it where they sell home canning stuff.

If this is your first cheese, try asiago. It can be ready in as little as 2 months. You could also make parmesan or Romano, but they will need to age a year. You will need a cheese press and a place to store any of these at a suitable temperature and humidity.

Unfortunately I am reporting another fail at AHS. Was there last Friday to purchase a couple bags of 2-row. They were out. Also only 1 package of US-05. Hard to understand how a LHBS can be out of 2-row and US-05. :confused: It is unlikely I will shop them again.

I was getting HBO for free the last three months from Time Warner. Spent at least four Sundays watching GOT marathons. Also saw the first two episodes of season five. The freebe ended. Too cheap to purchase HBO, but I am already having withdrawal symptoms. Great series. I will miss it. :(
