    World Cup 2010

Great ideas all ... thanks for the input so far! I think a cream ale is definitely in the cards. 2 taps solidified, 2 more to nail down. Hmmm...

    World Cup 2010

I'm trying to decide what to brew to have 4 brews on draft during the World Cup this summer, as we will be holding several game viewing parties (USA!!), but many of those guests who will show do not yet appreciate adventurous beer styles. I want to have a good balance across the 4 taps with...

    Snow!!!

dang ... my all grain equipment is scheduled to get here on Wednesday ... why didn't I order a few days earlier?! Nothin like being snowed in with no ingredients & thinking about tons of new gear sitting on a truck somewhere. Been pacing around all morning watching the snow pile up around us.

    Drilling through side of refrigerator!

Are you just running the hose through the fridge wall? This is what I used: Austin Homebrew Supply

    Drilling through side of refrigerator!

I drilled 2 holes for dual regulator co2 lines. Most stand up fridges (not freezers) only have foam insulation in the side walls. Try the pilot hole & wire trick.

    Keg Force Carbing Methods Illustrated

Yeah I also did something similar with shaking the keg at 30 psi for a few minutes, but without waiting any time for the keg to rest on high pressure. However, now several hours later having let the keg sit quietly in the fridge off gas, I am getting 95% foam 5% liquid, and the beer itself...

    Pirate Stout.

The beer is very drinkable, as long as I don't think about all of the effort I put into it just to get a run-of-the-mill dry stout. I'm already planning Part Doo...

    whats up with AHB

I also just made a first time purchase (being a loyal customer to a big AHS competitor) earlier in the week after months of thinking about doing so, and have been waiting all week for the shipping info to appear in my Inbox. I appreciate AHS's position and what they are doing to rectify it BUT...

    Coconut Rum Stout

Yeah, you each kind of reinforce my gut feeling that the yeast cannibalized the flavor since much of that is in fact sugar. It's been in the bottle for only 12 days so I will definitely let it age more to see if the flavor expands in maturation. I know that's not long for aging at 12 days, but...

    Coconut Rum Stout

OK, just FINALLY cracked open my 1st bottle of my long awaited version of Coconut Rum Stout. I used 2 lbs of shredded (thoroughly rinsed) coconut shavings, 2 cans of coconut milk, and 15oz of Cruzan Single Barrel Estate Rum. The inside top of the secondary was thickly layered in an amazing...

    List your favorite 3 beers

I am very flavor of the month too, but currently it's: Samuel Smith - Oatmeal Stout Avery - Hogheaven Barleywine-style Ale Kona - Pipeline Porter (coffee) ... and speaking of nasty beers, does anyone have any experience with that Bud Clamato?!?
