I did 3 five gallon batches Tuesday and all went well. I started about 10:00 and finished about 10:00 with about an hour break for dinner. All 3 will be ready for the secondary by Sunday. I brewed 3 batches yesterday using S04 and S05. All 3 started bubbling within 4 to 9 hours. I have been starting in under 11 hours for the last year or so using nothing but dry yeast.

I have been using strictly dry for a year or more and am quit happy. Although there is not as much variety S04 and S05 have been good for me. I brewed 3 batches yesterday and my fermentation start time was anywhere between 4 and 9 hours.

I have 4, 10 and 18 year olds at home. The oldest could care less and the other two like to help where they can once in awhile and at this stage have no problems with the fact it isnt for them and they have not asked to try it.

Thanks for the fermcap suggestion. Looks like there is a few different types that do the same thing. Will call the local store tomorrow and if they do not have it I will order it. On vacation next week and want to do a double batch. Thanks again Dan

Well lets just say when I tried to brew a full 5 gallon batch it blew my airlock right off of the fermentor. In order for this to be usable and not have that happen I need to cut my boil volume down to about 4.5 gallon. Can I do that and then top off with sterilized water when I bottle? What...

They got these things that tell u how much is left in your tank, I got one after the 1st time I ran out during a Saturday afternoon. Scared me, thought it would screw up my brew man.

Yep drinkin too of course. God they had a lot of chances to win that game. Relatie from the good ole Volunteer state so I watch. Can t beleive my beloved Maize and Blue pulled it off today.

My 1st year hops did not grow at all. I am sure it was my fault for not paying more attention to them so next year I will do a much better job. I do however want to move them to another area and I am wondering if it would be better to di it now or wait until spring. Thanks Dan
