WLP002. English I believe. I pitched 2 viles of that. I think a starter would have helped a little more. Thanks for the help!

Brewed a pumpkin ale 2 weeks ago and got about 4.5 gallons out of the batch. Just checked the gravity and it's sitting about 1.024 but should be closer to 1.016. Any suggestions on how to get it there? Or am I stuck with what I've got?
Thank you!

I know I'm suppose to use beer line cleaner for the kegging system but I was wondering if PBW would work well enough until I am able to get the cleaner? I have to keg in the next couple days and I need to order the cleaner.

I was primarily basing it off of the activity in the airlocks. The last batch I made was far more active. I will definitely take gravity readings before pulling it out but it hasn't even been a week yet. That'll be my next step. Thanks for the advice.

I made a very basic wheat ale and it has been in the carboy since Sunday evening. I split ten gallons in to two five gallon batches. I haven't had much activity, compared to the last batch I made. I was curious if adding another yeast vile to each one when I transfer them to secondary if that...
Hi everyone! Just made my first mead and I'm thinking ahead to bottling time. I want to use (5) 1 gallon bottles when it's finished. A couple I want to drink right away but I also want to age a couple. Are there suggestions on what to cap with for the ones I want to age?
Thanks

Day two into fermentation and I can smell krausen/yeasty aroma coming through my airlock. Will this affect the overall beer? Is this bad/good/doesn't matter? I don't recall having this issue with previous brews. It might help to mention that I am using a seven gallon stainless steel conical I...
Thank you all for the input. I am located in mid-west indiana and we have a local farmers market where lots of honey is sold. Reading all this I believe I will definitely go with the local stuff. I'm trying to go as natural and local as possible. Thanks
I'm going to start brewing mead and was just wondering if it matters what kind of honey to use. Is there a certain kind of honey needed or will pure honey from the local market work the same?
Ok. Yes I already extract brew but am still new at it. I just wasn't sure if there was a different process for fermenting. I have two better bottles and two glass carboys. I plan on making ten gallon batches so I guess I could just split it in the carboys.
