i have a bunch of empty wine bottles and i want to bottle my non carbonated apfelwein in these. i dont have a bottle corker so could i just jam a cork into the bottle and call it done?

sweet i think ill go with two pounds but i might add one pound initially and then rerack onto the vanilla and the other pound of raspberry. oh and i meant i will get some fresh raspberries and freeze them..or will that be unnecessary?
Raspberry Mead
one gallon batch
3 lbs raspberry honey
1.5 lbs frozen raspberries
vanilla bean
wyeast mead sweet or red star champagne or lalvin d-47
what do you guys think about those quantities?
also if you have any experience with raspberry mead, what other ingredients have tasted...
that makes a lot of sense that carrying a carboy with 5 gallons of wort would create a lot of stress on the neck..ill definitely play it safe and see what else my lhbs has to offer..
thanks for the advice
I just got a 5 gallon glass carboy from the thrift store for free! i immediately went to my lhbs to get a carboy handle..to sadly find out it doesnt fit..any ideas on why this is or what i could do to fix it?
Thanks all

Man you guys are awesome! Thanks for all the advice and i think i will skip to secondary fermentation for now at least.
I just boiled my first wort today and it turned out very well but im afraid my yeast may be dead..i "rehydrated" and "proofed" the yeast as it told me on How to Brew - By...
Hey guys im fresh to the brewing scene and have a couple questions for you all.
Im wondering if secondary fermentation is something i definitely want to look into for my second batch or not? If so, would a glass carboy be a good investment for this process?
Thanks,
