It's Harvest Time in Northern Idaho

I will be harvesting a bumper crop of Cascade and Northern Brewer. Due to the fact that I had some neck problems this summer, I didn't do a good job of thinning, so all my bines are intertwined. I guess a mixed bag of hops is better than no hops. I should have plenty if anyone is...

    BierMunchers Rolling Kegerator (BYO Published)

They said a hot new craze was sweeping 'cross the nation: "Be the first kid on your street to own this out of sight sensation! If you want to have a lot of friends and have a lot of fun, then dig up all your money and go out and get yourself one!" Because everybody wants one. And...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

I have a question concerning back sweetening some apfelwein. Litehouse cider is very, very tasty, I think they use honeycrisp apples, but they also use two preservatives in it. I know I can't use it to "make" apfelwein" but can I use it to sweeten apfelwein when I keg it? Will the preservatives...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

Sounds like you have a scale. Weigh 3/4 of a cup of dextrose, divide that by 5 to get the weight for 1 gallon, then multiply that by 4.

I found this site about making cider interesting and the home made press and the apple grinder pretty cool! http://www.sentex.net/~mwandel/press/making_cider Not to mention the 55 gallon drums of happy juice. Bob
