I am going to bottle so hopefully I get the same results you did. I am putting it in a fizzy yellow lawnmower beer I just made for some friends. I might just do it for half the batch just in case it doesn't turn out. It seems like most go with a wheat beer for the shandy. Truth be told, it's for...
So I solved the problem. Lowe's does not carry high pressure regulator's that have the ability to adjust the flame. I did figure out what the problem was. The turkey fryer that I got for free is old enough that the tip which connects to the propane tank is apparently not in use these days. I...
Worst beer ever for me are Natural Ice pounders. Back in my fraternity days we scammed the college into buying several truck loads of this for an all campus party. The stuff lasted forever. Every now and again a couple of guys who had the urge to get stupid and were broke would choke some...
Thats effing hilarious! Looks pretty damn good for throwing something together really quick. That would take me hours. What programs did you use to make it?
Self-sufficient, I read into the wee hours of the night because I work the nightshift. I'm willing to bet most of my posts happen during those hours. I'm actually living in Brownsburg so we are practically neighbors.
and further research tells me... I don't have a high pressure regulator on my current setup. This would account for the 2 hour boil time. I had to replace the connection that came with the turkey fryer setup (i got it for free) because it was missing the black plastic piece that screws on to...
Good point. I already have a 30qt pot, but the imaginations says "ooooooo, 2 pots and 2 burners, brew two batches at once!" I think I may do myself a huge favor and just snag a better burner.
Besides, I drink too much when I brew and would inevitably cross up 2 batches.
NEW SAF-T-FRYER 35Qt Turkey Fryer/Steamer/Boiler Stainless Steel
Does anyone think the odd shape of the pot would affect anything? I already have an outdoor burner, but it sucks. It takes almost two hours to bring 5 gallons to a boil. I end up heating 2.5 to steep the grains then add...
I got interested in brewing several years ago when I picked up Papazian's book. However, the SWMBO wasn't into it and thought I was an alcoholic because I even thought about it. Anyway, the SWMBO is no longer SWMBO, and I started brewing.
I took a class with Anita at Great Fermentations...
