Partial Mash Question - mash temperature too high, low O.G.?

What temperature was your wort when you took the hydrometer reading? Have you tested it in plain water? You could try lowering your mash water volume a little bit and performing a mini sparge. That will help you get those ever so important sugars left behind in the grain. The high mash temp...

    First AG Batch - Success!

My very first custom recipe AG batch brew day was today, and I couldnt be more happy with the results. I just had to share how it went! To start the day out I split a Sierra Nevada 30th Anniversary imperial helles bock (the one that Papazian and another known homebrewer helped out on) with my...

Another little tidbit of info: In the three weeks of primary time the cloudiness has improved, if any (it could just be me hoping too much), only marginally.

American Wheat / Pale Ale Recipe - Help Plz

I'd move those 30 minute additions to 20-15, add some to your 60 min addition to compensate for the lowered IBU's, and add another addition at flameout/whirlpool. Great recipe!

    keg conditioning question

I brewed an arrogant bastard semi-clone that has sat in the primary for about 2 weeks. I usually like to rack to my secondary and let my beers sit for another 2 weeks, but due to hosting a shindig on monday I am wanting to keg it and uber-force carb it so its ready in time. Im just wondering...

    Big Mistake?

I am brewing a 6-malt amber using extract + specialty grains. My roomy measured the OG, told me it was fine, so once I was back in the kitchen to help i pitched the liquid yeast, put the lid on and put it away. Two hours later my roommate decided to tell me the OG was .008 higher than it...

Im working on my very first brew, and I believe everything has gone very well up to this point. Im making a holiday chocolate stout. Its been fermenting for 3 days, and is bubbling quite nicely. These bubbles dont smell like rotten eggs or sulfur or anything, but they definitely dont really...
