    Coopers Pilsner, skunk?

Yeah, this stuff reeked while it was fermenting too, it's settled down now after two weeks in the bottle, it's not skunky anymore. Sure did stink when it was fermenting though!

    Coopers Pilsner, skunk?

Hey thanks a lot. I tried one of these last night and I'm pretty impressed, it's been just over two weeks in the bottle and the smell is pretty much gone. I'm going to let them sit for another week or so and then start drinking them. They are quite good, I'll probably make them again. I tried...

    Coopers Pilsner, skunk?

Alright, I've finally broke down, I went to the Liquor store today and bought a Czechvar Pilsner, which is supposed to be a very good Pilsner from the Czech republic, it tasted similar to the batch of Coopers Pilsner I just brewed. A bit hoppier, but with the same smell and a similar taste, My...

    Expired Brewhouse

Here in Antigonish a fellow returned a Brewhouse kit to my LHBS that didn't carbonate enough and they replaced it free of charge. I imagine they'd do the same at your place. As far as expired brews go, I just brewed a Coopers Brewmaster selection Pilsner that was about a year out of date and it...

    Coopers Pilsner, skunk?

Ok, thanks so much. I'm actually pretty taken by it, I like the taste. Was just worried about the smell, didn't want to be drinking infected beer or anything. I've never had a batch go south on me so I wouldn't know what to look out for. I do like it, thank you.

    Coopers Pilsner, skunk?

Sorry, no I brewed it one the sixth. It was in a primary. Moved it to a secondary (Carboy) on the eighth or ninth, it sat in the Primary for three days at least. So three days in the primary. I usually let these sit for two weeks in the secondary (carboy) then bottle, they're usually stopped and...

    First Pislner Attempt

I actually just bottled some of this a little bit ago. I kept my temperatures down around the recommended range (as per the instructions on the kit) mine never got hotter than 70 and never colder than 62. Fermentation was about the average time, I kept mine in carboys for about a month or so...

    Coopers Pilsner, skunk?

Hey all, I just recently brewed up a Thomas Coopers Brewmaster Pilsner kit. I added 500g of Muntons light spraymalt and 2 cups of corn sugar at the start. I brewed Oct. 6th, racked to a carboy oct. 8th, oct 23rd I racked to another carboy to get this brew off the lees on the bottom and to let it...

Anyone have any feedback on these Meads?

Thanks Brandon O, I've always wanted to try Malkores, glad to know that it's good. Gratus: No, I've never tried a sack mead, heard the name before though. The sweet and strong part sounds pretty good. How exactly does one make a sack mead? Finally, has anyone ever tried making a mead with an...

Anyone have any feedback on these Meads?

Hey all, how goes? I've made mead twice before, both times the mead was just a standard mead with honey as the only real fementable ingredient. I used the recipe called "Chief Niwort's Mead" the recipe is out of the bookThe New Joy of Homebrewing I'll post it on here once I find my recipe again...

    EdWorts question

Molasses would be interesting to try, I think you'd have to shake it up a lot more to dissolve it. Try warming the molasses bottle up in hot water before you pour it, it'll make it easier to get out of the bottle.

    EdWorts question

My Apflewein is getting near week two in the fermentation period, I too experienced the pungent aroma of "Rhino farts" Hope this stuff is good when it's done. It's starting to clear already though, can't wait to taste it. I did wind up using the corn sugar, will make a batch with Brown sugar...

    Malkore's Mead

Alright, thanks. So what should I use for yeasts for JOAM and MAOM? All my homebrew store carries are Ale yeasts and Lalvin Yeasts, I think they have EC 1118 K1 1116 The Lalvin site (http://www.lalvinyeast.com/strains.asp) recommends ICV D47 for meads, here's what it has to say about it: The...
