I used duct tape for a few days but then it just peeled off. I ended up glueing two strong magnets above and below the switch. Then put a thin bolt crossing over the switch. Magnet holds down the bolt enough to keep the light on. Then I just take off the bolt if I want light.
Realized this after about a week and rigged up a little magnet solution.
As to the question of whether or not to install an external temp controller...in my opinion, I would just do it if you're building it now. I have had mine running for about 6 months and depending on whether you have...
This looks like it is implying a co2 tank and two 1/6 kegs will fit here... I was really hoping to do commercial kegs in the conversion I am doing, but it seems most people dont think two 1/6 kegs will fit. I just need to keep re-reading this entire thread I suppose.

I thought you weren't supposed to use airlocks on starters. I'm sure it's one of those highly opinionated things...but I gathered that the commonly used practice was loose foil because a good exchange of oxygen in a starter was good.
By the way...another shipment of Nugget Nectar came into...
NN is by far one of my favorite beers out there. Went through 3 six packs in the last month or so. Now that Bell's Oberon is out...I stocked up on a couple six packs of that.
