    Is it just me or is brewday better then christmas?

    Yesterday's brew day was better than Christmas for me. Had a friend over to help out while our kids played in the beautiful weather, brewed a cream ale, grilled beer brauts, and drank some cold ones. Doesn't get much better than that on a Saturday afternoon.

    You went metric and imperial!! My head!! :drunk: I am still pretty new too, but from what I've read about this on here popular opinion seems to be that that is not enough room. I think you're better off using 6.5-7 gal bucket.

    First batch in the fermenter

    A tip that came with my kit that worked very well was putting the LME bag in a warm water bath for several minutes before putting it in the boil pot. This really helped in getting almost all of the LME out of the bag.

    How long was it in primary? Secondary? Bottles? My first batch is still sitting in primary, and I have my fingers crossed it turns out good!
