I think Yooper posted that one a few months ago somewhere and I started drooling. (about the conical) :)
It's quite a bit more expensive than the non-temp control, but I really like the idea of being able to dial in a temp and knowing I'll hit it consistently without having to build a whole...
+1 for the whirlfloc. I use one tablet at flameout.
Never used gelatin and my ales are very clear.
I know what you mean about the spear but I think you're just going to miss out on some beer by shortening it. For me I get some sediment when I first tap or if I have to move my kegerator for...
Let's see...
20 gallons of Bluegrass ale- one 5 gallon batch still on tap
10 gallons of an IPA
5 gallons of something my son called HopHazard ???
5 gallons of Marzen - kicked this weekend
5 gallons of an Octoberfest Ale recipe -still on tap

Here's one: Double check your amounts when you are getting close to the end and make sure you're good.
My son and I went all-grain 3 batches ago and every one since then has found us at the end with just under 5 gallons (were going for a full-boil) and we had to add up. This isn't how we were...

5lbs should be fine. I've had 4 kegs on tap at once. It's just a matter of how long it will last, but for simultaneous use, not a problem in my experience. 4 kegs at a party was no problem for mine.
Ha-ha.
I didn't see this coming when I saw the title. I was like, 'Really? He must be doing it wrong.'
But nope. Clearly you're doing it right!:mug:
I have the same problem. My son got me into brewing this past winter and I built a kegerator while my very first batch was...
If you read the sticky about dogs, read the whole thing. The results aren't really that convincing when you look at the sample.
Beyond that, you could take the tap handles off when you're not around or get those little plastic covers for the taps for like 50 cents (I think those little...
I keep a spare keg filled with sanitizer solution in it and flush the lines every couple of weeks by just unhooking the lines and putting the 'cleaning' keg on there. Then if I have any unused taps, I leave the star-san in the line.
I also completely disassemble all of the taps about once a...
