Using welded stainless steal tubing as beer line

Hey @AirJordan, I was able to get this all set up using stainless and it was awesome I went inside the wall, and that was difficult with such a rigid trunk line. If I were to do it again I'd definitely use SS again but I think I'd run the lines up the other side of the wall rather than inside...

No yeast activity even after repitching

Fair point. I'll try again and take gravity readings at every step. I have to get in the habit of doing that anyway.

No yeast activity even after repitching

So what I ended up with was kegged wort. It never actually fermented. The grains I used were crushed a little over a year before I brewed with them, but that shouldn't make a difference, right? From what I've read on this site, even if the grains had gone stale they should still have been...

No yeast activity even after repitching

Thanks for all the responses. I ended up buying a new packet of yeast and pitching a starter, but nothing changed. No activity and the refractometer Brix reading remained at 8, which converts to 1.032 (with no adjustment for alcohol content). My hydrometer reading, with adjustment for...

No yeast activity even after repitching

I'm really not sure. The recipe I based mine off of doesn't include gravity numbers. I only recently bought a refractometer and I just totally forgot to check OG before pitching.

No yeast activity even after repitching

I know this has been discussed at length in this forum, but I've been unable to find a solution to my problem in existing posts. I'm having trouble getting my wort to ferment. I've done everything as I normally do but I'm getting no yeast activity at all. My fermentation chamber is set at 70...

    Cheapest Electric Setup

OP, I do biab in a keggle and I keep the bag off the bottom of the keggle using an upside down stainless strainer/colander. I cut out a piece of the strainer where it needs to clear my pickup tube to reach the bottom. You could do the same to clear straight part of the heating element near the...

Massachusetts Danby DAR440BL 4.4 cu. ft. Fridge with door shelves removed

I've never used pin locks, so I'm not sure. The interior is 18 1/8" wide, but there are some shelf channels that protrude a bit into the interior, making it 16 5/8" wide. You could probably trim these channels the same way I've trimmed the plastic shelving from the door. The interior...

Massachusetts Danby DAR440BL 4.4 cu. ft. Fridge with door shelves removed

Exactly right. I contacted Danby and they confirmed that the top can be drilled for a tap and there are no lines in the bottom. The lines zig zag up and down the sides of the fridge. I can provide the diagram they sent me.

Will 1/4" bore shank be a problem with 5/16" beer line?

OP here. I used this formula L = (keg_pressure – 1 psi) / Resistance and with an 8 foot lift it worked out well. I ended up with 16 feet of 5/16" line coiling ~8 feet of it inside the fridge. A tip for coiling...wrap the tubing around the corny keg several times and it becomes a perfect round...
