The one that got away

Pellicle on top of a beer that just wasn't meant to go sour.

Did you ever taste this brew? I had a very similar looking pellicle recently and ended up putting it outside in the cold and ended getting an iced witbier!!! The "bug" was identified by a microbiologist friend and was acetobacter or gluconabacter. Both are not desirable in beer. I am hoping my iced witbier turns out ok. Acetobacter/gluconabacter infections make the beer taste like rotten veggies or turnips.

No, I didn't actually taste this one. It was my first one ever (and only) to do that after several years of brewing. I did the home brewer thing and let it go for another couple of weeks to see what would happen but everything that did just made me think more and more that this beer wasn't worth saving.

Much more fun to get another brew going.
