How long is too long to leave the cones on the bine before picking?

I believe that the some of my cones are ready to be picked but I do have a lot that still need some time. Once I decide to pick I will have to pick all since I won't be able to rise the bines back up.

Any help here?

i grow on poles (tall slender trees) that can be taken down from their supports when i want to harvest. once plucked clean, they can be hoisted back up and secured to take advantage of additional carbohydrate production that will occur during the remainder of the growing season. it's worked well for me over the past 20 or so years. just remember to give the poles a 'stress test' each spring before you lash them to the support. hop on it!
