I come to bury bines, not to raze them.

If you want some strong rhizomes for expanding you hop yard next year, this is the time to prepare. Rather than cutting your bines down, lower them and bury the first 3-4 feet a few inches down. In the Spring you'll be able to cut the buried bine into rhizomes.

Do you cut the rest of the bine off after that first 3-4'? Or do you leave that exposed to continue to take in sunlight?

I also wish I had more room. I would like to plant three more varieties.
