Default Extract - WendelWeizen

Recipe Type: Extract
Yeast: White Labs Hefeweizen Ale IV WLP380
Batch Size (Gallons): 5
Original Gravity: 1.048
Final Gravity: vaires
Boiling Time (Minutes): 60 minutes
Color: Wheat
Primary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 5
Secondary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 5
Tasting Notes: Oregon-Style Hefe - Apricot/citrus notes rather than the usual banana/clove

8oz Red Wheat Milled
4oz Honey Malt Milled
.25oz Sweet Orange Peel Finely Ground
6.5lbs of Liquid Wheat Malt Extract
Yeast - White Labs Hefeweizen Ale IV WLP380
1oz Vanguard Hop Pellets.

Boil Water. Turn off.
Steep Grains for 15-30minutes.
Return to boil. Turn off.
Add Liquid Malt extract - Stir until completely dissolved.
Return to low boil.
Add 3/4oz Vanguard. Low boil for 45 minutes.
Turn off heat. Add the rest (1/4oz) of the hops and the sweet orange peel.
Rack to fermenter. Add yeast.
5 days in primary - 5 days in Secondary. Do not add any sort of clarifiers.
Carbonate and age 3 weeks before enjoying.
