Got my new Low Pressure Gauge and CO2 tank nut ring today and got the old ones off. Now I'm wondering if I should be gas taping, pipegooing, or leaving these threads alone. Who knows the answer?
I gas taped mine and no leaks here.

I use tape too.. better safe the leaky!!
The new regulator I bought had dried glue on the threads. I used teflon tape when reassembling.
I'm a believer in Teflon tape. I even use it on the threads for the tank. As long as you keep it clear of the mating surface, it can help prevent galling.
Remember one unassailable statistic, as explained by the late, great George Carlin: "Just think of how stupid the average person is, and then realize half of them are even stupider!"

cant go wrong with the teflon tape. 2 wraps counterclockwise or clockwise, I always have to look at it and do it twice.
