Hi, i am working on making a braumeister-ish system from a 80l manteled steam kettle i got from a friend. I do not want to make holes in it, and was wondering what the best way to use pumps would be. Considering the fact that pumps that can handle hot wort aren't self priming (from what i have found) i was thinking of making a kind of "priming aid"

What do you think of an approach like this to get the lines filled in order for gravity to do it's thing?

Edit:

Here is what i am building:

I prime my entire system by pinching off the hose returning wort from my RIMS to my mash tun and then filling the MLT from a water supply line connected to the inlet of the RIMS, which is after the pump outlet. That back floods the pump and the entire piping back through the false bottom, completely priming the pump. That's similar to what you propose, except that the water would be added below the pump's throttling valve and instead of a pitcher for filling, it comes from the original water supply.

Thanks. I think i will go for somethinglike that.It sounds good.

Here is the current status of my build:
