I just found a sheet of round hole perforated stainless steel in the attic at work. It has 1/8" holes on 3/16" centers. My question is concerning the 1/8" hole. Is this small enough to build a false bottom out of??? It sure looks nice. I can cut it and dome it at the shop to fit the bottom of my 10 gal Gott. I have not really looked that close at the bottoms on the market because I could not justify the cost so I am not sure what size is being used. The price is right on this (free) so if it is close to the right size I am going to build one up.

Thanks for any input!!

I think the standard is 3/32" holes on a FB??? I'm a braid guy FWIW. It will likely work fine w/ a coarse enough crush, but like I said, I'm a braid guy.

I used one on my mash tun and it was too big - my only stuck sparge. I switched it over to my BK and it works well for leaf hops. Bought a Jaybird special hinged FB for the MLT with the smaller holes.
