Default Auber PID - PROBLEM (HELP)

I just finished building my brew system. I am running a VR8200 using LP with a constant pilot light on an Auber SYL-2362 PID. I just completed my first test run.

Here is the problem: When my water temp in my HLT reaches ~80F, the PID shuts the gas to the burner off. If I pull the RTD out of the thermo-well and the temp drops below 80F, the burner turns back on. It is very strange. I have the PID set to 165F.

Has anyone experienced this problem before.

BTW- I have another PID configured to run a HEX and it works flawlessly.

Thanks for any assistance.

Is the PID configured for the right sensor? By default they are configured for a type K thermocouple.

I thought of that. However, both current temp and target temp would both be C or F. Based on this, I concluded it was not a temp conversion problem.

I did connect and set the correct temperature reading. I am comfortable the sensor is correct. I compared my other PID and an external thermometer and all three agreed to each other.
