Default Nail Polish Remover smell

My Hefe is on day 8 of fermentation and there is a rather strong nail polish remover type smell? WTF

What yeast?

I'm using 3068 in a hefe at the moment and it's got a pretty strong stank coming off of it, but I've never had acetone smell.

I'd let it ferment out and sit for a bit as usual, if it tastes like acetone then worry, most likely the smell will fade. No reason to get concerned yet, yeast makes a lot of funny smells at different temps.

nevermind. It's actually nailpolish remover from a box that i hadnt opened since I moved. When I pushed it out of the way for the brewery I guess I punctured the acetone bottle. I need to put a time lock on the door to that room so I stop checking on the beer.

Not so new actually. Acetone odors can come from high fermenting temps.
