Just set to ferment, didn't aerate... ??

I just snapped the lid on my first batch about an hour ago, and I just realized I forgot to aerate.

If I take the lid off and stir it around now, would there be any problems, would it work? Should I not worry about it?

Thanks for any quick advice I can get.
 
If you don't want to remove the lid, remove the air-lock, cover the hole, pick up the bucket/carboy and shake vigrously for a minute. That's what I do.
 
Aerate now. The yeast will thank you for it. Keep the lid on and shake the **** out of it.
