So I am brewing a couple batches of my Robust Porter this weekend, I wanted to mix up one batch and add a little Honey Malt.
Here is my layout, what ya think:
Efficiency: 65% (3.5gal batch)
Grain Bill
Total Grains: 9.35lb
Maris Otter: 6.5lb
Munich Malt: 2.0lb
Chocolate Malt: .35lb
Honey Malt: .20lb
Black Patent: .15lb
Special B: .15lb
Hops
Pearle: .70oz (60min)
Hallertauer: .70oz (20min & 10min)
Fuggles: .70oz (10min)
Yeast
Irish Ale Yeast (WLP004)
OG: 1.064
FG: 1.017
IBU's: 45.2
Estimated ABV: 6.1%
When I brewed this before without the Honey Malt, it turned out phenomenal! Everyone who tried it said it was probably one of the best porters that they have had; I am not a huge dark beer fan, but I can appreciate the style, and I will say that I would have drank more than one of this in any one setting!
Thanks guys
