Does anyone know why many lambic bottles are so thick? What size caps do the standard ones need (Oude Gueuze, Lindemans, etc.)?

I have a couple and would like to reuse them.

I think they take 29mm caps.
You may well find the thickness is required to withstand high levels of carbonation.

Well...that would make sense, except the ones I've had were not very carbonated at all. The Hanssens Oude Geuze and the Lindeman's Framboise had way less carbonation than the beers I enjoy.

That's why I asked the first question.

Because they do refermentation in the bottle. Sometimes they've even got a cap and a cork.

Yes, all of these had a cap and cork. And there was hardly any pressure behind the cork when the bottles were opened.

Research Armand's thermostat incident at Drei Fonteinen. That will tell you just about all you need to know concerning being extra cautious with lambic fermentations and bottle conditioning.
