Ive been reading on pushing from a donar keg to an empty keg in order to transfer said keg without stiring up sediment. Question is why do you need to purge the recieving keg with co2. Why not just transfer with the lid off of the keg, then seal it up and purge the o2 out afterwords. Its realy the same way the keg was intialy filled.

It's about minimizing O2. You should really purge your keg with CO2 before filling as well.

It's pretty easy to do and cheap. I figured out process when brewing IPA's where I dry hop. I first transfer from my carboy and use the first keg as a secondary or bright tank. I then transfer to my serving keg.
