Well, just received my first corny keg from MoreBeer and it showed up broken (see pictures). I was planning to keg my first batch tomorrow but that's not going to happen now, I'm affraid to brake off that handle bracket completelly, so I either have to weld it somehow or try fix it with epoxy. I sent pictures to MoreBeer but did not get any reply as of now. I'm sure they will respond but it will take time to straightn things out. Very dissapointing My beer been sitting lonely in carboy now for over 3 weeks and I have a feeling it will be there for another week atleast. I don't have spare keg. I don't know what MoreBeer will do but they should replace the lid. I understand that kegs are used but send me one in this condition its little ridiculous. Worst part I have another one coming from them (week away), hope its in better condition :rockin:
Here the question. If I dont get replacement, can I weld it? Its alluminium from what I can see and it might be tricky. Will epoxy hold it in place? I can drop a blob of steel epoxy or JB Weld. From what I can see based on design that bracket doesn't really do much other than hold lid tight to the keg until you pressurize it with CO2. Anyone fixed keg lids before?
