Carbing a high ABV...?

I bottled a Trappist that's close to 9% but the usual amount of primer hasn't yet carbed the brew. It's been about 3 weeks since bottle day. Patience or proactivity?
 
Yeast could be dead or have gone to sleep because of too high alc%. What kind of yeast did you use and where are you storing the bottles for conditioning?
